| I've seen some brilliant understudies/standbys over the past 25 years of theatergoing. This just seems absurd that the company couldn't get their act together. Were the performers still memorizing lines this week? Audiences are gracious in a season of crisis but also hate hearing excuses. Covid was an exception, but there were fewer cancellations starting in early 2021 because the casts figured out a way to make things work. | |
