I've played in the pit for Hello Again and I've music directed See What I Wanna See. I have a great love for both scores. BUT - watching Hello Again, despite the humor in the show, can be a rather depressing evening...and I remember that some of the audience response to See What I Wanna See was being rather confused by the piece. Seeing a local production of his Wild Party was exhilarating evening given the talent and musicianship (and the audience seemed to love it) but I'm still left with the feeling that neither musical adaptation of Wild Party has a particularly strong narrative. But the score (both Wild Party scores, tbh) are great, IMO.

Still, I'm glad that LaChiusa (who we met while doing See What I Wanna See) dares to write the risky pieces he writes.
