I didn’t understand why this story was being told. Sweeney is a cannibalism story with a broader allegorical mystery, and also has a bit of suspense.
While Swept Away was finely performed, why were they telling the story? It wasn’t particularly entertaining or suspenseful - and I took absolutely nothing I could relate to my own life or the current world. The show was just sort of there - and I think that was reflected in word of mouth. |
