| In 1958, Wright and Forrest began working on a musical version of the play Grand Hotel, renamed At The Grand. They could not make it work and the show folded out of town, More than thirty years later, Tommy Tune and Maury Yeston made changes and the show opened on Broadway in 1989 and became a hit. (I realize I am simplifying. I apologize.) A Anyway, is that the longest tryout period for a musical? Other long ones? |
