It was getting laughs in the wrong places with the best being someone shot then reappears with a wrapped ankle with his pants still on... seconds later that wound is clearly healed ( on his knee in a marriage proposal ) even after the 2nd Act opening song about it: "The Shot That Shook The Soul" featuring a bloody bandage!
Then there is the Boneyard which is a combination tavern/bordello with a floor show featuring more performers than customers and someone in 1893 Texas shouts "We need to get the Hell outta Dodge!". Talented voices on stage given very weak material.
