Glad you enjoyed the show! I don't mean to burst your bubble -- but back in 1973/74 in both the London and Broadway revival -- Angela Lansbury as Rose did the exact same thing at the end of "Rose's Turn": At the end of the number, the real audience in the theatre applauded and Angela (as Rose) looked out into the audience and started bowing. And when the audience stopped applauding -- she took one more bow in the total silence. It was absolutely chilling as you realized that Rose was hearing that applause all in her head.

So, while Audra may be wonderful --- that last bit of staging after "Rose's Turn" was NOT created by Audra or by George Wolfe but by Arthur Laurents and Angela Lansbury back in 1973/74. Give credit where credit is due.
