| I witnessed the matinee performance today and while it was my first Gypsy, and since I can’t express myself as elegantly as other posters, I just want to say two things. From the moment she entered down the aisle she had the entire audience in the palm of her hand. And when she finished Rose’s Turn and we all spontaneously leapt to our feet, she continued her bowing till we sat down and were quiet, effectively appearing to be playing to an empty house. Just masterful. | |
