There are quite a few notable new shows and revivals competing for 1 big award each.
I am going to put my money behind FLOYD COLLINS to take Best Musical Revival. Sorry Sunset and Gypsy.
But I have absolutely no idea what new musical is going to win Best Musical. Or Score or Book. There are so many years where only 1 or 2 shows even deserves the prize, as much as I love a robust season of good stuff, but I also wish it could be spread out more sometimes. I hate to see the fate of a multiple shows deserving to win, when only one can. Especially if one of them sweeps. But this doesn't seem like a sweep year. I'll put my money that Score and Book go to different shows. And neither of those may even be the one that wins Musical. |
