I'm not writing this to be facetious, honestly, but I don't really understand the issue. The women being directed into the men's room aren't using the urinals, right? So all the other people at the urinal with you are other men, right? Just as it would normally have been had the restroom still been gender-segregated, right? So...if the issue is that you're worried about random women potentially seeing your penis, zip up before you turn around and head to the sink to wash your hands. That's something you can do, right? If you're worried about a transwoman with a penis using the urinal next to you and (I guess) potentially seeing your penis, how is that different from a male-presenting person potentially doing the same? I know everyone has different comfort levels with their own bodies, and I am not a woman, so I cannot speak for them, but my assumption would be that, even if a woman using a restroom formerly segregated for men only happened to get a brief glimpse of something private, they likely would either not care or turn away or both. Most of them have probably seen a penis or two before and are aware of male anatomy. Any women who could simply could not bear the idea of possibly seeing a penis for nanosecond while using a restroom would probably not take the opportunity to join the men's room line. So what's up here? What's the issue? |
