Her mazeppa was the highlight of the evening playing the trumpet and dance.
What is up that curtain call? They were all on stage without individual bows like an ensemble show.
Since I have spent decades listening to Daly, lupone and merman recordings, Audra’s soprano was jarring for me. I’m not an expert but she seemed to switch from mezzo to soprano mid song. But it’s early and she will probably find the right balance.
It’s a solid production, but I prefer lupone and still love Daly for being my first rose. |
