..two important aspects of The Rink, at least as it was originally conceived: (1) Anna and Angel are roles for DANCERS and (2) Angel is supposed to be packing on a few extra pounds.

When brainstorming ideal casting for Anna, rather than look to someone like Patti LuPone, who's famous first and foremost for her belting, I'd look more to someone like Bianca Marroquin or Donna Marie Asbury. (I recognize they would not be big enough names to headline a Broadway revival, but I did say "ideal.")

It's harder for me to think of ideas for Angel because bigger dancers are still rarely given opportunities to shine on Broadway, and I'm not sure if the few I can think of have those Liza PIPES.
