He plays a manic-depression character very very well. You don’t even really realize that his character has that disorder until well into the movie. You kind of cringe at some of the stuff he says and does (especially meeting the other tour group members) but then when he crashes—he crashes. And his suicide attempt really makes sense. That is a very subtle performance that could really been screwed up by other actors. Succession is more is a rich spoiled kid performance that he did well but we’ve seen before.
