Olly Dobson did the workshop of ''Back to the Future: The Musical''; originated the role of Marty McFly at its world premiere in 2020 at the Manchester Opera House, and then reprised his role when it moved to the West End in 2021, where he was Olivier Award-nominated, and the show won Best New Musical.

But when it came time to take ''Back to the Future'' to Broadway, they dropped Dobson, reportedly to hire an American actor: Casey Likes.

I just caught a TV commercial for the national tour, which features not Caden Brauch (as McFly) or Likes (from Broadway), but I thought I saw Dobson.
