I agree that Purpose will probably be a nominee alongside Oh Mary and English. I'm only putting it as a question mark because this is a new production, but its reception at Steppenwolf puts it as a serious contender for winning Best Play. I really liked The Hills of California but I know many did not. I will be very happy if it is a nominee.
Job had a very polarizing reception, and I don't think it will get in unless the spring entries are all duds. Good Night and Good Luck is the big question mark here because it is a world premiere. But the writers are the same as for the movie's screenplay, which was nominated for Best Original Screenplay by the Oscars, BAFTA, and the Writers Guild, so I am guessing the script for the play will be decent. But nobody knows right now. |
