I think that it was actually marvelous that she was still working and active almost up to the end, although sad, of course, that she passed. I recall first seeing Ms. Lavin on "Barney Miller" in a special role arc that had her paired with great chemistry opposite series regular Max Gail, and her presence, talent and energy really stood out. She was enjoyable on "Alice", a show that had some wonderful people on it who made scripts not up to their level still very watchable. Her recording of "You've Got Possibilities" in "It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman" was still being used in commercials in recent years, and hers was considered the breakout performance in that production. I've seen Ms. Lavin in a number of shows over the years, and she was always terrific, including her beautiful monologue recalling her dance with George Raft in "Broadway Bound". Rest in peace, and thanks for sharing your wonderful talent.
