Sometimes it is, as it might be in any job.
But of course if you're good, you learn how to maintain, how keep the role fresh and exciting, and above all how to stay professional and give each performance your best. That's what you were hired to do. And for many performers, hopefully that kind of dedication helps with the emotional lift they need to keep coming back every night to do it again. But just assuming it's always going to be a glamorous life is nuts.
And if you have the option to renew your contract when it's time, you weight the options and either stay or leave. It's a job. Sometimes an incredibly rewarding and joyous job, of course - and those are the ones you always hope to get. But sometimes yes, it is drudgery, especially after a while. Just like any job. |
