A couple of notes here.
The current production is not related to the production that NETworks tour-produced a number of times in the last decade. That production was an offshoot of the original Broadway production which was produced by Warner, but not with the same creatives (and definitely not the Broadway set).
The current production IS related to a European production. The lead producer of this was (in a different corporate configuration) the lead producer of the European production. Also producing this is a tour producer (interestingly and perhaps connectedly involved in the current MSG Annie). The third producer is, as I think I said before, Nederlander.
I assume the Warner/NETworks rights lapsed, creating this opportunity. |
