I would think first letters. I don't think that "ALL CAPS" is what is being implied here. However, as I posted above, I have seen instances of all caps being used for titles (all titles, not just musicals and books) in lieu of italics or underlining. Or quotes.
I believe, however, that underlining or italics are the preferred styles. As to what kinds of works get quotes, I know song titles would, chapters in a book would, and probably episodes of a TV series as opposed to the full series. But I'm pretty sure that film titles and TV series titles would properly get italics or underlines.
PS - I knew what you meant by Michigan. I was just surprised that they came up with the odd idea that titles of musicals were to be formatted differently than other titles. I think that is 100% wrong. |
