| I think every critic of every production of Gypsy has centered the character of Rose, because she is the STAR, she is the central character, by quite a margin. As big and integral as Louise is, and while it is also her story (it is a mother daughter story, beginning to end, but it is in that order)... the weight and amount of Louise's material in the show, script and score both, do not match Rose's. |
