The gun is mentioned but it is only seen in the backstage footage. There also is no gunfire, just percussion that accompanies lighting effects. And, frankly, I don't necessarily come away from that scene thinking she shot him. Mauled him maybe.... In Mandy's last shot, she looks eerily like a vampire, which I don't think was accidental. The sound effects are also consistent with that.
But actually, I think Joe's fate is clear enough. What I don't think is clear is the final scene, i.e., that she is playing to the media cameras as the police are taking her away. There is zero context for any of that dialogue. |
