....or PR spin. Urban Cowboy, which quickly set a closing date (March 29) right after opening in 2003, ended up rescinding the closing and remaining open (with no "extension" on the closing - it just remained open until a new closing, May 18, was announced).

Several other shows have extended a closing, even more so than Swept Away.
Swept Away simply added two weeks to its closing date - the same as For Colored Girls... (which set a closing of May 22, 2022 then extended to June 5). Ain't No Mo' extended a week after announcing closing, and Indecent added on six weeks (closing was announced for June 25, 2017, then extended until August 6). Swept Away's "second chance" isn't that unusual.

I was there Thursday and they seem to be doing these speeches every night...
