It’s a remarkable performance. Surprising, electric, nuanced. I’ve lived Gypsy for decades, but never genuinely saw Rose as human til now (though Peters was glorious).
I want Audra as Eliza, Guinevere, Lovett, and, hell, even Mame if she wants it. I was stunned by her Billie Holiday. But this is next level stunning in its genuine humanity. Her performance is really something.
