Oh, totally irresponsible to re-mount it. I can't believe it was considered responsible to mount it in the 1980's. With high schoolers yet. And with that short run, the public must have agreed in 1966.
On the cast: Thelma Ritter played Tony Randall's fun-loving, senile 94-year-old mother who was intoxicated for the second act. Alan Webb was "the Mad Bomber" who happened to be totally blind. Margaret Hamilton played "a tough, warm, middle-aged companion and cook" whose act 2 costume is a French maid's outfit. It had to have been something to see.
And the recent incident was entirely why this play came to my mind to post. |
