Please, no reminders of how old I am getting. I loved ballroom. I knew Michael in his Buffalo days. His grandmother and mine were good friends, so I felt like a bit of an (unworthy) insider in The Big City visiting from good old Buffalo. I also had been a dance instructor for a few years in the 70's so I felt a great connection to the show even a generation younger than portrayed. You never saw such energy and dance from a group of "older" dancers and they stopped the show cold with several numbers. I had loved the original television movie, which was of course smaller and intimate, nothing what Michael was going for here. You can only have a terrific time with the likes of Dorothy Louden, Vincent Gardenia, Marilyn Cooper, Liz Sheridan, et al and I loved it.
