| I saw the original production of Piano Lesson and consider it one of the finest Broadway productions ever mounted. Like other productions of the past that I've seen (like the original cast of Chicago), I won't go to the revivals or, worse, film versions that simply try to "open up" the stage version and end up reducing the effectiveness of the stage for which was written. (Ma Rainey's Black Bottom was an exception.) Thanks for the warning. |
