Yes, a great film, my favorite American film of the year so far. I especially like how smoothly Eisenberg, as writer and director, handles the shifts in mood in this film, from broadly comic, to deeply serious, to touching and affecting. This is something I’ve seen some Broadway shows attempt but not as successfully as Eisenberg manages it here. (This was the source of my disappointment in Yellow Face most recently.) I hope Eisenberg does something on stage soon, either as writer, director or actor, though I’m not sure about a musical.
