I was at the St. James in person sitting in the front mezzanine and I was overwhelmed by the touching and emotional speeches. I talked to Gavin after a few of his concerts and he was always so kind and gracious to me. I wasn’t surprised by all the joy expressed today about Gavin though I never witnessed his sadder side. Of course he wouldn’t have been human without his demons.
I think all his family and friends did him proud today. I was especially moved to hear how much he worked for marriage equality which the Trump administration will try to destroy. I hope the light can eventually prevail. |
