Jez Butterworth's 'THE AGENCY' with Michael Fassbender, Jeffrey Wright and Jodie Comer Smith

Anyone else catch the first two episode's of SHOWTIME's The Agency, the new spy series with a glittery cast of stage and screen stars like Michael Fassbender, Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Comer Smith, Richard Gere and Dominic West?

This is the first Jez Butterworth film or TV project I've seen. I've LOVED his work in the theatre, but, Lord, did I find the first two episodes of this new series a slog. A lot of talented people involved in a surprisingly dull series that doesn't seem to know if it wants to be a heavy prestige series or a silly lightweight espionage caper -- and all with some truly awful dialogue that, if you told me AI was involved in its creation, I would believe you. Hard to believe that the man behind The Ferryman and The Hills of California wrote this (along with his brother John-Henry Butterworth.)
