Is there a way to know how well a show is selling before it opens?

I bought a ticket for a show and I’m not seeing much talk about the show online and am worried it will fail. Is there a way to tell which tickets are unavailable because they’re actually sold versus which tickets are unavailable because they’re being held off? I’m very new to seeing Broadway shows. This one will be my third time going, ever.
