I agree with this post. I saw it 2-3 weeks ago. I went because of Sherie Rene Scott who didn’t disappoint. Her Audrey is fragile, but she also sells the songs and humor. If anything, I wanted more. I hadn’t seen Nicholas Christopher before but he was great. I bought the signed playbill which I have never done before.
I assume the post is about those two stars. As for the rest,James Carpinello may have chewed more scenery than Audrey II. (If my memory serves, he was still in Xanadu when I saw it before I saw him several days later hobbling on crutches). Major Attaway is a fine voice for Audrey II. The actresses playing Chiffon Crystal and Ronnette and Stephen DeRosa’s Mushnik were good - the Dentist song staging took me by surprise.
If you haven’t seen this production yet or are fans of the stars, this is definitely the time to see if. |
