The revival directed by Hal Prince in 1987 had a considerably revised script by Joe Masteroff that turned Cliff from a heterosexual to a bisexual man. It also added the song "I Don't Care Much" for Joel Grey as the Emcee, used a combination of the stage and film "Money" songs, and cut "Meeskite." Prince was usually completely uninterested in directing revivals of shows he had already done. Purportedly, he made an exception here because of the revisions, particularly due to the opportunity to be more honest about Cliff's sexuality, which wasn't possible on Broadway in 1966.

I don't know if there were any changes in the Roundabout's revival of the Mendes-Marshall version.
