DECEMBER 21 AND 22, 2024: JESSICA VOSK JOINS THE NEW YORK POPS AT CARNEGIE HALL FOR ANNUAL HOLIDAY CONCERT TRADITION November 4, 2024, New York, NY — The New York Pops, led by Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke, rings in the holiday season with its annual concert tradition on Friday, December 20 and Saturday, December 21 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. Merry and Bright features Jessica Vosk (upcoming performances in Broadway's Hell's Kitchen; previous appearances in Broadway's Wicked, Fiddler on the Roof, and Finding Neverland) and Judith Clurman's Essential Voices USA in classic carols and contemporary holiday favorites. Jessica's new holiday album, Sleigh, on Concord Theatricals Recordings will be released on digital platforms on November 15th (physical copies available on December 6th), and features collaborations with Neil Patrick Harris, David Foster, Ariana DeBose, and Scott Hoying (Pentatonix). The single, a new arrangement of Ariana Grande's "Santa Tell Me" with new orchestrations in honor of its tenth anniversary, is available for streaming now. Steven Reineke has established himself as one of North America's leading conductors of popular music and is in his second decade as Music Director of The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall. Additionally, he is Principal Pops Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Principal Pops Conductor of the Houston and Toronto Symphony Orchestras. Reineke is a frequent guest conductor with The Philadelphia Orchestra and his extensive North American conducting appearances include Dallas, Detroit and the Ravinia Music Festival. On stage, Mr. Reineke has created programs and collaborated with a range of leading artists from the worlds hip hop, R & B, Broadway, television and rock including: Maxwell, Common, Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Cynthia Erivo, Sutton Foster, Megan Hilty, Cheyenne Jackson, Wayne Brady, Peter Frampton and Ben Folds, amongst others. In 2017 he was featured on National Public Radio's "All Things Considered" leading the National Symphony Orchestra - in a first for the show's 45-year history - performing live music excerpts in between news segments. In 2018 Reineke led the National Symphony Orchestra with hip hop legend Nas performing his seminal album "Illmatic" on PBS's Great Performances. As the creator of more than one hundred orchestral arrangements for the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, Mr. Reineke's work has been performed worldwide, and can be heard on numerous Cincinnati Pops Orchestra recordings on the Telarc label. His symphonic works Celebration Fanfare, Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Casey at the Bat are performed frequently in North America, including performances by the New York Philharmonic and Los Angeles Philharmonic. His Sun Valley Festival Fanfare was used to commemorate the Sun Valley Summer Symphony's pavilion, and his Festival Te Deum and Swan's Island Sojourn were debuted by the Cincinnati Symphony and Cincinnati Pops Orchestras. His numerous wind ensemble compositions are published by the C.L. Barnhouse Company and are performed by concert bands worldwide. A native of Ohio, Mr. Reineke is a graduate of Miami University of Ohio (2020 Alumnus Distinguished Achievement Medal), where he earned bachelor of music degrees with honors in both trumpet performance and music composition. He currently resides in New York City with his husband Eric Gabbard. Jessica Vosk is a celebrated singer and actress known for electrifying roles on musical theater and concert stages. She made her Carnegie Hall debut in November 2021 in a sold-out solo show titled My Golden Age and returned in 2022 to headline Get Happy: A Judy Garland Centennial Celebration. Jessica's 2024-2025 season highlights include creating the fan-favorite role of Lute in the animated musical series Hazbin Hotel, creating the role of ‘Cee Cee' in the international premiere of the musical adaptation of Beaches, as well as returning to The Muny as Jenna in Waitress. She returned to San Francisco Symphony at Stern Grove Festival to celebrate the Fourth of July; debuted at Philadelphia's Kimmel Center with No Name Pops and her program California Dreamin' – Songs of the Laurel Canyon; and will celebrate the holidays this year with National Symphony Orchestra at The Kennedy Center and The New York Pops in her return to Carnegie Hall. This fall, Jessica released ‘SLEIGH,' a full-length extension of her 2020 holiday EP ‘A Very CoCo Christmas,' and returned to Broadway starring as Jersey in Alicia Keys' Hell's Kitchen. Judith Clurman's Essential Voices USA (EVUSA) is one of New York's preeminent choral ensembles. EVUSA boasts a talented roster of seasoned professionals and auditioned volunteers, dynamically fitted to the unique needs of each project. EVUSA has appeared at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, on NPR'S Tiny Desk Concerts, at the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting, at the Washington National Cathedral, and in collaborative programs with the NYC public schools.
