| I personally don't have a YouTube video as such but I did do a Mimi Hines deep dive on YT and saw some awe inspiring performances. When Funny Girl was revived, I was made aware of her. She can sing as well as Garland or Streisand, but she never achieved that level of stardom, despite the talent being through the roof and beyond. In the many interviews I saw, her personality was of someone who seemed so kind and with a sense of humor, no disparaging remarks either. I wish I'd of known who she was and had seen her perform. A legendary presence we'll probably never see again. And it does leave me to ask, why aren't we seeing these kind of new legendary performers? How did the big voices of Streisand, Edie Gorme, Marilyn Michaels and Mimi Hines, to name a few, all seemingly emerge at the same time? Was it something in the water? |
