So, having read the whole thread, I'll report that I've opted to spend $155 for a matinee, frontish side mezz. It's more than I intended, but that happens.
I appreciate this thread; much wisdom here about the intersection of artistic expectation and pragmatic consumerism. The point made about seats now purchased closer to attendance is a critical one. It even proved true for Groban, later in his run (folks got good seats about 3 weeks in advance). Yet we'll have to see if that means folks will fork over $271-$321 for the synergy of Rose/Audra, still a steep price, no matter how much we love the show and its cherished star. |
